Sarah

NOW:

At Montana State University, where Sarah attended college, she was extremely involved in the equine program. She completed several courses as a riding Teacher's Assistant, colt breaking and specialized training courses, as well as being a member of the Polo Team and the President her final year. Upon graduating from Montana State University with a B.S. in Equine Science and a minor in Business Administration, Sarah took a job outside of San Diego, California working as a Barn Manager for a privately owned and operated horse property. In her fashion of constantly engaging her mind and building upon her knowledge base, Sarah began training with a local Dressage trainer, Sheri Heiar. She is currently approaching the 2 year mark in her training with Sheri, who has also helped Sarah develop her Western discipline show and western reining skills, as well as assisted with the training of Sarah's 5 year old Foundation Quarter horse, Skippa Two-Eyed Patch.
Sarah's extensive equine knowledge and training base consists of balancing nutritional requirements specific to an individual horse, colt starting and training, basic equine veterinary skills, FFA horse judging coach, camp counselor & leadership mentor. She has also participate in an array of equine clinics, including one with Cowboy Challenge founder Craig Cameron and a clinic with classical dressage trainer, Patrice Edwards, which has helped develop Sarah's skill base into one of great diversity. One of the most important lessons Sarah has learned over the last 3 years is that a well gymnastized horse can take you in any direction, help a rider achieve any goal he or she has regardless of breed stereotypes; a Foundation Quarter horse can be just as successful of a dressage horse as he can be a reining horse given that he is gymnastically ridden.
In her dedication to stay involved with the youth community Sarah has volunteered her time as an AYSO soccer coach in the fall the last years within her local community and is currently a horse judging team coach for the local high school FFA team. It is because of the mentors and other influential adults in her life who have helped to cultivate Sarah's childhood into that of a rich one, that she strives to give that same experience to other children, teenagers and adults alike.
